Waltz Across Montana

Waltz Across Montana

-Written by Doug Adkins-

i’d waltz across Montana over you

across the plains to the Rocky Mountains

Idaho to that North Dakota line

i’ll show you a way of livin’ pure as our sky is blue

well I never thought i’d be sayin’ this

but girl you got me thinkin’

i’d waltz across Montana over you

you’d never catch me down in Georgia

i know a peach can’t hold my mind

no business goin to California

i’m afraid i’d just be wastin’ time

but you can drop me in Montana

just across the border i’ll be fine

then i’ll put my arm around your waste

and dance across that Northern Highline

yes i’d waltz across Montana over you

across the plains to the Rocky Mountains

Idaho to that North Dakota line

i’ll show you a way of livin’ pure as our sky is blue

well I never thought i’d be sayin’ this

but girl you got me thinkin’

i’d waltz across Montana over you

thought i’d seen em all by now

my heart broke by every kind

yes i did what Ol’ John Cash said

always my best to “Walk The Line”

they all start out by really lovin’ on you

but she that giveth taketh away

i swore that i’d never fall again

but with you i might just give this heart away

yes i’d waltz across Montana over you

across the plains to the Rocky Mountains

Idaho to that North Dakota line

i’ll show you a way of livin’ pure as our sky is blue

well I never thought i’d be sayin’ this

but girl you got me thinkin’

i’d waltz across Montana over you

i’ll show you a way of livin’

pure as our sky is blue

girl I never thought i’d be sayin’ this

but you sure got me thinkin’

i’d waltz across Montana over you

One Fine Mamma

One Fine Mamma
- Written by Matt Wegner -

back in them woods where the tall trees grow
high up in the mountains where the green river flows
never thought in this part of the world
i`d ever meet such a beautiful girl

oooohhhhh, one fine mama, she was a oooohhhhh one fine mamma
she was a one fine mama looking for me

come sit by my fire have some bacon and beans
you remind me of an angel from my home in new orlean
her deep blue eyes got this poor boy heart pumpin
felt back in the swamp like an old catfish jumpin

oooohhhhh, one fine mama, she was a oooohhhhh one fine mamma
she was one fine mama looking for me

a little later on much too my surprise
she flashed her badge then she read me my rights
been looking for you  this is the reason why
you`ve been hiding up here from the F.B.I.

oooohhhhh, one fine mama, she was a oooohhhhh one fine mamma
she was a one fine mama looking for me
she was a one fine mama looking for me

Loved You More Than Sunshine

(Doug Adkins)

Loved You More

-Written by Doug Adkins-

i hear your name, my mind begins to turn

about our love and the bridges i burned

apologise for tearin’ us apart

miss every beat of your broken heart

and i love you more than sunshine

i love you more than anything i ever need

i love you more than red wine

more than every breath i breathe

we all have love that we’ve done wrong

that’s where we get all these silly love songs

still it hurts so bad the day they walk away

and i’m so sorry girl you never heard me say

that i love you more than sunshine

i love you more than everything i ever need

i love you more than red wine

more than every breath i breathe

well you can paint a picture girl

of why you just couldn’t stay

i surely do apologise

that you never heard me say

that i love you more than sunshine

yes i loved you more than sunshine

i loved you more than anything i ever need

i loved you more than red wine

more than every breath i breathe

yes i loved you more than sunshine

i loved you more than anything i ever need

i loved you more than red wine

more than every breath i breathe

Ropin' The Wind

(Doug Adkins)

Ropin`the wind

i was, on a hill side standin’ all alone

like a rider in a storm, out on his own

deep in the darkness, saw my dreams fade in the night

turned my head to the left,  to the right

guess there’s just some things i can’t make right

i’m like a cowboy ropin’ the wind

i ask myself, where in this world do i fit in

throw my rope around a dream

tit slips right through my fingers

like a cowboy ropin’ the wind

they always told me, that my life would shine so bright

now i’m standin’ at a crossroads, and i don’t know

should i turn left or right

i’m like a cowboy ropin’ the wind

i ask myself, where in this world do i fit in

throw my rope around a dream

it slips through my fingers again

like a cowboy ropin’ the wind

i just gotta know, where my world will go from here

i ask myself that age ol’ question

what the hell am i doin’ here

they told me, my life would shine so bright

i’m standin’ at a crossroads

and I don’t know, should i turn left or right

i’m like a cowboy ropin’ the wind

i ask myself, where in this world do i fit in

throw my rope around a dream

it slips right through my fingers

like a cowboy ropin’ the wind

we’re like cowboys ropin’ the wind

we ask ourself, where in this world do we fit in

throw a rope around a dream

it slips right through our fingers again

we’re like cowboys ropin’ the wind

Mary Jane Riley

Mary Jane Riley

-Written by Doug Adkins / Gerd Vogel-

well i was talkin’ on the phone with my ol’ buddy joe

he told me bout a club where MJ Riley goes

i never was the kind to chase the gals around

somehow all that changed when mary jane came to town

in the bottom of my stomach things started rumblin

hey that little lady she got me feelin’ somethin’

just like the other day, at the barber shop

ted and bill and george and me were drinkin’ sodie pop

not a single one could even swat a fly

when that little lady went slowly walkin’ by

what a sight to see all the boys a fumblin’

Mary Jane Riley she got the catfish jumpin

i never played the fool but on my knees i’d crawl

Mary Jane Riley got me feelin’ 10 feet tall

since she moved to town i’m thinkin’ that i’m somethin’

Mary Jane Riley she got the catfish jumpin’

well it was 20 years she stepped into my life

she said i was the one so i made that gal my wife

she looks into my eyes i’m her little prince

she whispers in my ear gives me little hints

she’s tellin all her friends i’m really somethin’

ya Mary Jane Riley she keeps the tractor rumblin’

i never played the fool but on my knees i’d crawl

hey that little lady she catch me when i fall

the day she moved to town started thinkin’ i was somethin’

cause Mary Jane Riley she keeps the tractor rumblin’

she’s tellin’ all her friends that i’m really cool

that lady finds a compliment for everything i do

she’s the sweetest thing a man like me could ever find

i’m livin’ like a king cause that little gal is mine

i never played the fool but on my knees i’d crawl

hey that little lady she catch me when i fall

the day she moved to town started thinkin’ i was somethin’

cause Mary Jane Riley she keeps the tractor rumblin’

i never played the fool but on my knees i’d crawl

Mary Jane Riley got me feelin’ 10 feet tall

the day she moved to town started thinkin’ i was somthin’

Mary Jane Riley she got the catfish jumpin

To Sante Fe

(Doug Adkins)

To Santa Fe

-Written by Matt Wegner / Doug Adkins-

the war was over and the killing fields lay burned

Confederate veterans coming home

with hearts on fire from the battles they returned

old memories scarred them to the bone

there’d always been a lot of cattle on the plains

large herds untouched by branding iron

most of em had to start over again

young texans proud and defiant

they travelled far along that chisholm trail

runnin’ longhorns to the union pacific rail

in clouds of dust and dreams of yesterday

they’re headin’ back To Santa Fe

night herders cry `stampede`would split the air

the slightest sound could spook the herds

with shots and shouts they’d try to turn the head

many a cowboy`s buried in that earth

one flash of lightning a thunderstruck mass

wolfpack howlin in the night

old cowmen softly calm them doggies down

singin’ the ballad of Sam Bass

they travelled far along that chisholm trail

runnin’ longhorns to the union pacific rail

in clouds of dust and dreams of yesterday

they’re headin’ back To Santa Fe

cloth covered wagons movin’ cross the range

homesteaders cry “go west” young man

wide open spaces cut by barbed wire fence

the drovers days came to end

they travelled far along that chisholm trail

runnin’ longhorns to the union pacific rail

in clouds of dust and dreams of yesterday

they’re headin’ back To Santa Fe

they travelled far along that chisholm trail

runnin’ longhorns to the union pacific rail

in clouds of dust and dreams of yesterday

they’re headin’ back To Santa Fe
